  • Trump Attacks Judge In New Courthouse Rant — Even As He Demands ‘The Gag Order Must Come Off!’
Former President Donald Trump attacked Judge Juan Merchan in a new courthouse rant demanding the gag order against him be lifted. Trump has been accused of repeatedly violating Judge Juan Merchan’s gag order in the Stormy Daniels hush money-election interference trial being prosecuted by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. Trump now faces a hearing on April 23 to determine if he has violated the order, and what action will be taken. That didn’t stop Trump from going on the attack Friday morning as he entered the courthouse for day four of his trial. Trump lashed out at “scum” who are “lying” about him — likely a reference to former fixer-turned-witness Michael Cohen. He demanded Merchan lift the gag order, making many familiar false claims along the way: So thank you very much. As you know, I’ve been saying for a long while this is a rigged trial. It’s coming from the White House. They have White House… ..... Read More.

  • Spectator Writer Faces Backlash Over ‘Grotesque’ Article As Named Lecturer Speaks Out
The article drew immediate condemnation from academics and the public alike with many questioning editorial judgement in publishing not only the story but the name of the lecturer. (Screengrab via Spectator) The Spectator’s theatre critic Lloyd Evans is unapologetic after he sparked backlash online for an article in which he admitted to visiting a brothel following a talk by a female university lecturer. The controversial piece, published online and set to appear in Saturday’s print edition of the magazine, was swiftly branded as “misogynistic” by readers as Evans recounted his response to attending Professor Lea Ypi’s lecture at Darwin College – which Evans originally claimed was “Downing College.” Professor Ypi, specialising in political theory at the London School of Economics, unwittingly became the subject of Evans’ arousal as he fixated more on her looks than on her insights into philosopher Immanuel Kant and political revolutions. “Her blonde hair… ..... • Newt Gingrich Offers Mike Johnson Advice Amid Ousting Threat: ‘You Can’t Govern By Shooting Your...
(Michael Macor/San Francisco Chronicle via AP) Newt Gingrich offered some advice to House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) on how to deal with the “narcissists” in his party amid threats of an ousting. Speaking with Politico, Gingrich said he’s in regular contact with Johnson’s team and admires the Republican leader for dealing with certain members of his conference. Johnson is currently trying to push foreign aid packages through the House, but has faced backlash and a potential motion to vacate over Ukraine funding. “He has the narrowest majority in modern times, and it’s not a true majority, because he’s got six or eight narcissists — people who think that they individually get to screw up everything,” Gringrich, a former Republican House Speaker, said. Asked to name names, Gingrich threw out Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL). The congressman reportedly had a heated exchange on Thursday when debating a group that included Johnson and… ..... Read More.

  • Reporter Asks Blinken If He Thinks Iran and Israel Will Avoid ‘A Big War Breaking Out’ After Str...
Hours after the news that Israel carried out a strike inside Iran, Secretary of State Anthony Blinken took questions about the development while in Italy for the G7. On Friday, he confirmed that the United States was not involved in the attack. Blinken took questions from reporters, including one from an Italian reporter who asked if he was “optimistic” that “a big war breaking out” was not a possibility in this case. Here was his response: All I can say is that for our part and for the entire G7, our focus has been on de-escalation, on avoiding a larger conflict. And actually, that’s been true since day one, after the horrific events of October 7th. A big part of our approach has been to prevent the conflict from spreading, to avoid escalation everywhere. And that’s a common policy across the G7. And it’s, very much our approach… ..... Read More.
